I wanna quit smoking, are the available aids ok to use if I am trying to get pregnant or become pregnant?
You'll have to ask your dr. about that one. But personally, I think getting pregnant is probably the very best way you can quit smoking.
Moms have a huge maternal instinct, and never, ever want to hurt their child. Smoking, not only prenatally, but after birth too, has been proven time and time again to injure children.
I think, if you want to take care of your baby, you'll do anything...even quit smoking.
I'm proud of the way you're confronting this problem. I can already tell you'll be a great mom.

i smoke, and when i found out i was pregnant… my doctor told me to cut back, not quit… just cut back… like two a day MAX
quitting smoking could put stress on your baby and do more harm than smoking 2 cigs a day. my best friend has three kids and smoked throughout all three pregnancies. Not saying that its a good thing to do…
anyways i would consult your doctor before you even use any available aids to help you quit…

I found out I was pregnant and whammo! I quit, no if’s and’s or butt’s about it. It was way easier then I expected. I would suggest just quitting, this is the best and the safest. If its for your baby its worth it. (I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks on thanksgiving) I felt like it was something I did, but I knew I did my best, and I quit. I just found out that I am pregnant again and Im glad that I havent smoked at all since the first time I found out….Good luck to you!

Sweetie,
I quit smoking nearly 3 years ago. I tried every aid in the book, from pills, patches, gum to poking holes in my cigarettes. The only thing that worked for me was just taking it one day at a time, staying too busy, or in places I couldn’t smoke, and flossing my teeth a lot!!!
Quitting for your baby’s health strikes me as a great incentive!

First, what’s the difference between ‘trying to get pregnant’ and ‘trying to become pregnant’? Secondly, since the available aids for quitting smoking usually involve significant dosages of nicotine, I wouldn’t. I quit smoking after 25 years of 2-3 packs per day by simply stopping and refusing to start again. No drugs, gum, patches etc. I gained a little weight for the first couple of months, and my temper was a little short, but other than that I just made the decision to kick and I did it. I’m NOT remarkable in the will-power department, so if I can do it I bet you can too. It feels GREAT!

Jenn-I have been smoking for half my life, I am 27. I have tried everything for quitting smoking. Gum, patches-did not work me. Cold turkey-did not work for me.
After years of trying to quit, I am happy to say I’ve found the solution. It is best to combine more than one of these methods. I had to use all three, but it worked!
-Chantix-no nicotine, prescription
-Hypnotism-I know, I know-but if you go to a one on one accredited hypnotherepist, you will be impressed
-Accupunture-This is the one that I felt the most help from, and I was very skeptical at first. To my surprise I felt it working instantly!
