<br />yes it can help, if you remain dedicated and are determined to stop. i believe a person can replace any habit with another habit. Often times people replace bad habits with other bad habits - transferring their addiction. but the gum should be fine!! you will need lots of will power though! also, don't think negatively.. you may not be chewing for as long as you think!!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have a serious disease that requires to not smoke, of course i still smoke,,, stupid me.... i have tried several times and no luck, i have tried hard candies, cinnamon, I cant afford <a href="http://www.stopsmokingkit.org.uk/goto/Quit-Smoking-Today/" title="">quit smoking</a> aids such as niccorette and things like that. please help i am at my wits end. I really need too and want too quit any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.<br />
<br />I have asthma, and yet I smoked for seven years before I learned I was pregnant.  I quit cold turkey right then and there. My love for my unborn child was greater than any addiction, and I wanted what I new was best for my child. After he was born I began smoking again due to some unbearable stress. I made sure to smoke outside, change my shirt wash, my hands and face before touching my child. When I became pregnant again I knew I could <a href="http://www.stopsmokingkit.org.uk/goto/Easy-Quit-Smoking/" title="">stop smoking</a> cold turkey. This time it was harder, but I had to fight the urge to smoke, and the longer I went with out one, the better I felt. I was able to convince myself that cigarettes would make me sick, physically, and that was all I needed to over come the addiction.  </p>
<p>My advice certainly is not to get pregnant, but if you have a serious disease that requires you not to smoke than you should quit. You love for yourself, and those that love you will be all you need to overcome the addiction. Start small, set goals and make those goals. i.e. one hour, then two, then three, until you can go a full day, then two days, then a week, then two weeks. You'll be amazed by how quickly you can kick the habit. Once you do, what ever you do don't go back. That may sound a Hippocratic, but that is what you got to do.  GOOD LUCK!</p>

<p>He only did the avena licorice and he successfully quit.  furthermore, he told me he had no cravings at all for over 5 days.  I was amazed as when I quit an 11 year, three pack a day habit 33 years ago cold turkey, I had continual cravings I had to fight for weeks.</p>
<p>If you can make it a week without smoke, you can do it I feel.</p>

I had my dad die of lung cancer and it is not a good way to die before your time and two uncles die of smoke related ills, My brother tried to quit many times finally succeeding with hypnosis and smoke free over a decade.  My dad also quit after many tries, unfortunately, soon after he was diagnosed with lung cancer and die in his 50s.</p>

<br />Be the survivor of a major heart attack like my husband did and that ought to do it for you. My husband had smoked for years &amp; I begged him to stop. How could I stress to our 5 children the dangers of smoking while their Dad puffed away. He tried to stop, he really did. He just wasn't man enough to put mind over matter. When he all but lost his life, he quit cold turkey, on his own, with no gimmicks.<br />
He has been free for yrs. None of our 5 children or their spouses smoke. Thank God for helping me win that one.<br />
